Are You a 'Secretariat'? You Might Be!

Achieving Like Secretariat

Hello, Everyone!  By now, many of you have seen the latest movie about the great racing horse named 'Secretariat'.  As I watched some of the online videos of those Triple Crown races, I was amazed and I became a fan of Secretariat, even though he is long gone.  Also, immediately, I saw a parallel of him being last and therefore, seemingly a 'loser' and that of people who have yet to accomplish basic goals and heart's desires such as ownership of their own homes/dream houses, career success, own successful business(es), success with their talents and such, seemingly being 'losers' in life.  Afterall, being last is not the position the winner is in. 

Just looking at the current, initial position of the horses when a horse race starts, it appears that the one that sprints ahead and accomplishes the position of 'first' early on in the race, will be the winner.  The same is true of people and the time-frame we achieve goals and heart's desires in.  It seems like those that achieve early on in life are the ultimate winners.  And, it seems like those of us that are late to start will not achieve comparable levels of achievement because of the time factor ... because they/we started last.  Well, let Secretariat's example at the 1973 Belmont Stakes be a visual example of what can happen with your achievement of your own success, prosperity, wholeness: your Divine heart's desires for each aspect of your life.  Let his victory at the 1973 Belmont Stakes, which you'll see in these videos (a playlist of 9), be an example of the degree of acceleration you can experience in accomplishing your goals & heart's desires.

In 'Secretariat Belmont Stakes 73' and 'Extended Post Race Coverage' you'll see that Secretariat & Sham are almost neck and neck. Then, Secretariat puts double-digit lengths between himself and Sham and wins!  He surpasses all those horses that were ahead of him and does so with supernatural speed and acceleration.  In these videos you'll hear and/or see that Secretariat would be absolute last horse at the start of the race. Being last was intentional positioning.  I read an article which stated Secretariat began to rest his rump against the rear gate of the stall during these races because when he first began racing the other horses would kick back their legs onto him to prevent him from getting ahead.  Many of you have encountered a similar type of treatment from people you know of, including family members.  Those people have tried to hinder your achievements or even prevent them altogether.  They tried to prevent you from winning at achieving success, prosperity, wholeness: your Divine heart's desires.  There are stories in the Holy Bible of people this type of treatment happened to including Joseph, the son of Israel (Jacob) and Rachel.  You can read Joseph's story in Genesis 37, 39-50 NIV.

Secretariat's Triple Crown achievements and Joseph's achievements are examples of how GOD, {the Creator of humankind, the Earth, Heaven and everything in them (the whole Universe)}, will help you catch up in the achievement of goals and heart's desires.  He will cause you to surpass, in achievements, those that tried to hinder and/or stop you.  And, He will propel you so far ahead so efficiently that in comparison, they’re left far behind you like Secretariat did with the other horses!  Secretariat kept on going, efficiently, 30+ lengths ahead of the other horses that were, at one time, all ahead of him! 

GOD mentions the topic of 'last' and 'first' in His Holy Bible.  Read some of His words, below,  about those that are last, and those that are first:

"But many that are first shall be last; and the last shall be first." ~ Matthew 19:30

"So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen." ~ Matthew 20:16

But many that are first shall be last; and the last first. ~ Mark 10:31

And, behold, there are last which shall be first, and there are first which shall be last. ~ Luke 13:30

I shared all of this post's content to encourage those that are 'last' to achieve their GOD-given goals & heart's desires.  Consider the possibility that you could be a 'Secretariat', a great, victorious, super-achiever 'last' that becomes 'first'.  You might be the last in your family to achieve anything with your talents, and yet the first to write a #1 Best Seller, the first to win an Emmy, the first to be a CEO, and so on! Go, you 'Secretariats', GO!

Decide What You Want for Yourself in 2009

In order to get what you want, you must first decide what you want.

Most people really foul up at this crucial first step because they simply can’t see how it’s possible to get what they want — so they don’t even let themselves want it.

What scientists now know about how the brain works is that you must first decide the 'WHAT' before your brain can figure out the 'HOW'. Once you lock-in your desires, your mind and the universe can step in.

Are you ready to get started?

STEP 1: Decide to Dream BIG and Be Willing to Dream BIG Dreams
Big dreams not only inspire you, but they also compel others to want to play big, too. Don’t think you should only dream big during economic heydays. Dream big every day, especially during tough times.

As soon as you commit to a big dream and really go after it, your subconscious creative mind will come up with big ideas to make it happen. You’ll start attracting the people, resources, and opportunities you need into your life to make your dream come true.

STEP 2: Set Goals That Will Stretch You
Another value in giving yourself permission to go after the big dreams is that big dreams require you to grow in order to achieve them. In fact, in the long run, this is the greatest benefit you will receive from pursuing your dreams — not so much the outer trappings of fulfilling the dream (an expensive car, impressive house, loads of money and philanthropic opportunities), but who you become in the process.

As I’ve seen many times over, the outer symbols of success can all be easily lost. Houses burn down, companies go bankrupt, relationships end, cars get old, bodies age and fame wanes, but who you are, what you have learned, and the new skills you have developed never go away. These are the true prizes of success.

STEP 3: Service to Others
As you pinpoint what you want to go after, think about how you can be of service to others. When your dreams include this element, you’ll find yourself speeding along the path to accomplishing that goal. People want to be part of something that contributes and makes a difference.

STEP 4: Turn Your Dreams into Goals and Objectives
Once you are clear about what you want, you must turn each item into a measurable goal. By measurable, I mean measurable in space and time, how much and by when. Don’t just say that you want to lose weight, for instance. Be specific, push yourself to higher limits, and set dates. Say something like, “I want to lose 50 pounds by summer and participate in my community’s 10K for charity by the 4th of July.”

Similarly, your boss, your friends, your spouse, your brain — God, the Universe — can’t figure out what you want unless you specifically tell them what it is.

What do you want — exactly — and when do you want it by?

STEP 5: Write Your Goals Down
Write your goals down in detail, and read your list of goals every day. This will keep your subconscious mind focused on what you want. For an even more powerful approach, close your eyes and focus on each goal and ask yourself, "What is one thing I could do today to move toward the achievement of this goal?" Write down your answers and take those actions.

I recommend writing down a minimum of 3 goals in each of the following 7 areas:

1. Financial Goals
2. Career/Business Goals
3. Free Time/Family Time
4. Health/Appearance Goals
5. Relationship Goals
6. Personal Growth
7. Making a Difference

Having a Happy New Year in 2009

Good day, Everyone! It's February 2009 and only fifty days ago, many of us celebrated for a "happy" new year. However, with the current state of the economy so far, many may feel there's nothing to be happy about in this new year. Well, I believe there is something to be happy about. Furthermore, I believe this year can be happy and divine. "How can 2009 possibly be a happy, divine year?", you may ask. I think a key factor is to focus on the positive, and not let the dismal reports make you depressed. "What positives?", you ask. Well, for example, being out of a job (as many are right now) gives a person time to do more things while they're searching for another job-based income, including creating additional, non-job-based incomes. Specifically, the non-job-based incomes I'm thinking of are incomes received from services or products provided from a personal talent or gift. These talents/gifts could be baking, playing an instrument like the piano, flute, tuba, or drums, building dog or doll houses, becoming an author, maintaining real estate properties or grounds, sewing, decorative painting, repairing automobiles, and etcetera; you get the idea.

Everyone has at least one talent/gift our Creator put in us; no one is left without a talent/gift. Therefore, each of us has a talent/gift that we can offer to provide a great "win-win" service or product. Our talents/gifts are enjoyable activities we like and love doing. We love sharing them. So, do the talent(s)/gift(s) you love and enjoy as an additional income/entrepreneurial income!! For many of us it's been our dream, our heart's desire, our goal to achieve a talent-/gift-based business income when we had the time to commit to it. Well, now many, many, many of us do have the time! Seize this golden opportunity!

There's a familiar saying about seeing a glass as being half empty or half full as being a matter of an individual's perspective. Here's my saying about the glass for all that are without jobs now: see the "glass full of time", now sitting beside the "empty glass of job". Then, choose to fill that empty glass of job with talent/gift-based incomes you'll enjoy for a lifetime. There's no sound logic to being dependant on one type/source of income. Instead, we should establish multiple incomes we truly enjoy, simultaneously achieving our dreams, goals, and heart's desires as "win-win" situations. Having done so, we'll be prepared for times like these should they arise again.

Yes, 2009 is divine! The challenge is to focus on the positive, the possibilities, and using this time to build a better life earning glorious income fulfilling our heart's desires , goals and dreams through the gifts/talents we've been given. The loss of job income does not have to be the end of you and yours!! No, instead, it should be the start of your best days and years of a divine, blissful "win-win" life of heart's desires, goals and dreams accomplished and financial independence.

My goal, here, is to be another positive voice of encouragement throughout this year, and to share awesome tools and resources that can be used to achieve your dreams, heart's desire and goals, hopefully in a profitable "win-win" way!
