How to Use Twitter - Basics

How to Use Twitter
from wikiHow - The How to Manual That You Can Edit

Different social media have different uses, strengths, advantages. Twitter[1] could be called a 'real time social networking' site. Learning how to use this fun, and useful, tool can be a bit intimidating. However, with a little effort, it is a tool that can make you 'digitally' famous.

Steps

  1. Go to Twitter.com[2] and sign up for a free account.

  2. Work on your 'bio'. You want to make it eye catching, and interesting. Do it just right and it will help you build up 'followers'.

  3. Add friends. You will probably find that you know quite a few people on Twitter. Using the 'Add Friends' utility, you can find people you know through your various GMail, AOL, MSN, Hotmail and Yahoo! accounts.

  4. Using @Replies. Click '@Replies' to see if there are any replies to any of your 'tweets'. When tweeting, using '@' followed by a user name (with no spaces) in your Tweet will send a 'mention' to the user you choose. For example, '@BarackObama' will send a mention to BarackObama and the entire Tweet will show up in his '@Replies' section.

  5. Send DMs. DMs are Direct Messages. They go straight to the intended person that you are messaging. It utilizes an inbox and outbox system, but you are still limited to using 140 characters; you are also limited to users who follow you.

  6. Send updates. This is where the tweets are generated from. If you want to let your followers know what you are doing, type it in the 'Update' text box and then click on 'Update'. You are allotted 140 characters to do this with.

  7. Use hashtags. Prefacing a word with a '#' will create a hashtag. For example A hashtag makes a certain word easily searchable. For more info on hashtags see the WikiHow article on How to use Hashtags with Twitter.

  8. Learn the Twitter lingo and use it appropriately.[3]
    • Retweet or "RT" - copying a tweet from another user.
    • Tweet - a Twitter blurb or update
    • TweetUps - Using Twitter to meet with other Twitter folks

  9. Look for people from organizations that you are in or for those that share a common interest.

Tips

  • Try to use just one tweet to get your point across. If it carries on to another tweet it should be shortened.

Spirituality TV - Positive, Wholesome, Enlightening, & Entertaining Programs for the Mind & Soul

Good day, Everyone! Briefly, let me state that Spirituality is an essential factor in our daily lives because it's reflected in everything we do, say, think, and believe. That said, there exists more than one type of spirit, that is lower-case, s-p-i-r-i-t. However, there's only one Holy Spirit, also known as, the Creator. So be careful to not confused spirits with the Spirit/Holy Spirit.

If the concept of Holy Spirit is new to you, there are several networks that have programming 24 hours/day & night, year-round, that reflect Holy Spirit's wisdom for us/humans and His Creation. Some of those networks include :

If you're new to Spirituality programs based on/focused on Holy Spirit-lifestyle, I've included videos of some of the musical programming these networks feature, in order to give you an idea of how exciting, and dynamic they are! Of course, they feature a broad spectrum of programming so tune in, and/or visit their websites to experience them.

Finally, you're going to feed your mind and soul something, so choose the BEST to nourish yourself with! You're entire life and those that love you and care about you will find you better for doing so! Nourish yourself with Spirituality from the BEST, ultimate source, our Creator, the Holy Spirit.

We can equate Spiritual nourishment to physical nourishment of the body. We should take great care of our minds and souls, just as we should take great care of our bodies! You've probably heard or read: "Good Things INSIDE, Good Things OUTSIDE (externally)!," & "Bad Stuff In, BAD Stuff Out!". Same concept with Spirituality: "Good Spirit Inside, Good Lifestyle Outside", "Bad s-p-i-r-i-t Inside, Bad Lifestyle Outside".

When we are connected to the Creator/Holy Spirit as He defines, we will experience His promise:

"Delight yourself in the LORD and He will give you the desires of your heart." - Psalms 37:4 NIV

Gratitude and The Gratitude Dance

Good Day, Everyone! Today's tool-topic is GRATITUDE. Wikipedia states, "Gratitude, thankfulness, or appreciation is a positive emotion or attitude in acknowledgment of a benefit that one has received or will receive."

Gratitude is a tool because it makes us focus on that which is the best of our life, rather than the worst, and in doing so works like visualizations and affirmations. Why? Well, as we express gratitude for something, whether verbally, written down or in our thoughts, we "affirm" it and we "visualize" it, simultaneously. We attract more of what we focus on, and we attract it more efficiently when we affirm and visualize it. So, expressing gratitude is a powerful tool for attracting what we desire; gratitude works like a powerful magnet!

Below, is a delightful video that's been out since September 19, 2007. Even now, it's still beneficial to serve as a light-hearted, joyful reminder to express gratitude often. This video made me smile and I believe it will have the same impact on you! I'm going to do this dance and have a good time laughing at myself as I do!
